Description: Written and directed by F. L. McConkey and narrated by John F.A. Taylor (Professor of Philosophy), A Place to Stand gives a cross-sectional look at MSU during the 1962-1963 academic year. The film suggests that the synthesis of the diverse activities of a University community results in a changed society. Highlights include footage of the construction of a new science complex and east campus dormitories, a Kabuki theater performance, Homecoming Queen Patty Johnson, and the new Jane Woodard Poetry Room in Morrill Hall.
