Description: Three softball players stop to view the progress of sculptor Leonard Jungwirth, of the college art department. The women are: Doreen Koebel, Nancy Knowlton, and Mary Marshall. First modeled in clay, the 11 1/2 foot Spartan was finally cast in terra cotta and displayed in June 1945.
