Description: This photograph shows male students rooming together in Quonsets. The typed attachment reads: "James Meckstrotch, of Sandusky, Ohio, and Bill Cavitt, of East Chicago, Indiana, two freshman candidates on the Michigan State college football squad, are temporarily being housed in the Quonset hut area on the campus. Starting with the opening of fall term on September 30, approximately 1664 men are to be housed in the 104 Quonset huts on the campus. Each hut has living and sleeping quarters for 16 men. There is a large recreational building for the area, as well as a large Quonset-type dining hall."
