Description: This photograph shows Hannah at the groundbreaking of Oakland University. The attached caption reads: "MSU President John A. Hannah and the late Mrs. Alfred Wilson shovel the first spade of dirt during the 1958 groundbreaking ceremonies of the establishment of Oakland University, MSU's affiliate university. The site for the University was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Wilson who gave their 1,400 acre Meadow Brook Farms estate valued at $8 million and donated $2 million for the first two academic buildings."
