Description: Electricity was first widely used on campus by around 1895. Campus improvements to the electricity facilities during the turn of the century included the construction of a heating and lighting plant in 1904, as well as the installation of a system of incandescent light strings placed on the top of building roofs and corners which were light on Thursday and Friday nights in 1907.
