Description: This image is of Lloyd C. Emmons, for whom Emmons Hall is named. Emmons worked to improve many aspects of Michigan State’s educational programs. While Dean of the School of Science and Arts, also referred to as Liberal Arts, Emmons made many changes within the school, including establishing a nursing program and an improved teacher preparation curriculum. Emmons continued to teach calculus while holding his position as a dean.
