Title: Written Rules for Students Printed
Description: The Board of Education, in the midst of a low point financially for the college, began to try to establish M.A.C. as a very organized institution. In 1858 the university printed a large set of rules for the students to follow. The following are a few examples:
- They are required promptly to attend all Chapel exercises, recitations, lectures, and field operations, and to discharge every duty imposed upon them.
- The use of tobacco and other narcotics, being disapproved of under all circumstances, is forbidden in any of the College buildings.
- Card playing and other games of chance are wholly prohibited
- On Sabbath, students shall attend the public Religious Services, held at the College
