Title: M.A.C. honors World War I soldiers
Description: Forty trees were planted at commencement in 1919 to honor the 40 M.A.C. students who died in the service during World War I. Within the area of the trees is a metal plaque with the names of the men. In total, 1400 M.A.C. students served during World War I. Over 20 graduates were presented with decorations from the U.S., Great Britain, and France for their service. The highest of these, the Congressional Medal of Honor, was given to M.A.C. graduate Harold Furlong.
